Massage

The average person has heard about one or more different massage modalities.

Clients have experienced one or more individual techniques and some were fortunate to have techniques combined in a session.

The nice thing to know about “techniques” is they all typically can be used in either a soft, medium or deep pressure approach
.
“Soft” – is for the more sensitive to the touch person.

“Medium” – is for the person wanting to be relaxed and feel an increase in blood flow.

“Deep” – is the true therapeutic structure re-alignment that increases range of motion and function.

Lymphatic Massage:

Structured pressure applied slowly to deliberate points releasing chronic areas of tension and to encourage the lymphatic system to release toxins.

Cost: R500 per 60 min session

Hot Stone Massage:

Hot Stone Massage Therapy dates back to over 3000 years ago. Hot Stone Massage Therapy is also known as Hot Rock Massage Therapy and was used in ancient India and China, and more recently by the North American Indians living in the southwest states.

This therapy combines the benefits of hydrotherapy and thermalism (or thermotherapy – the use of heat applications) with the strokes of massage using Stones to create a deep, relaxing and healing treatment.

Moist heat retained flat stones are placed on key points and massaged along the muscles. The heat helps the muscle release cutting down on the required pressure it takes to get lasting results

The heat of the massage stones also warms the skin, which allows for the absorption of moisturising and therapeutic oils, while simultaneously preparing the musculature of the body so the massage therapist can work into the deeper muscle layers.

Benefits of thermotherapy include:

• increased local circulation
• improved blood flow to surrounding tissues
• greater ability to transport toxins and waste products from the area.

Cost: R600 per 90 min session
